Metro Vancouver's housing stock will grow from 1.05 million to 1.7 million units by 2051, with over half being condominiums, up from under half today. Population will rise to 4.21 million. Condos will make up 67% of new homes, while single-family homes drop from 26% to 14%. Surrey and Vancouver will absorb nearly half of new housing. Growth focuses on densification near transit, with limited room for urban sprawl.
