Vancouver-area home sales rose 2.9% in August, with 1,959 sales, still 19.2% below the 10-year average. Sales of detached and attached homes increased over 10%, indicating renewed buyer interest in higher-priced properties. New listings grew 2.8%, and active listings rose 17.6%. The benchmark price dropped 3.8% from last year to $1,150,400. Meanwhile, Fraser Valley sales fell 13% year-over-year, with steady inventory and longer selling times.
